Digital Empowerment for SMEs: Training Workshop Held at Badulla District Secretariat

The first step of the 'Bpro' Sri Lanka project, implemented by Webcomms Global (Pvt) Ltd. to empower small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) island-wide, was successfully held on June 8, 2026, at the Badulla District Secretariat.
This special program was held under the leadership of Ms. Thushari Athapattu, Deputy Director of the Small Industries Department at the Badulla District Secretariat, and Ms. Nalani Kannangara, Senior Entrepreneurship Development Training Officer. It was conducted for 75 entrepreneurs selected for the "Entrepreneurship Development" project of the Small Industries Division under the Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development.
The resource contribution for this program was provided by the Lanka Institute of Languages and Information Technology.
During the session, the entrepreneurs were practically empowered with AI technology, digital marketing, and business website creation. Furthermore, they were provided with a 6-month digital action plan along with a follow-up process for the next 6 months to ensure their continuous growth.
